Privacy Policy — “Prayer Times” (مواقيت الصلاة)

Last updated: 2026-07-26. The app (com.altijwal.prayer) and prayer.altijwal.com are a free prayer-times service. No accounts, no ads, no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs; we never sell or share data with anyone.

Location (optional): the app defaults to Baghdad with no permission. If you opt in to GPS or search for a city, coordinates are sent over HTTPS to our own server for one purpose: computing prayer times and resolving the city/timezone. They are processed transiently to answer the request and are not retained for that purpose.

Anonymous usage statistics: once a day the app sends a small message containing the app version, the platform (Android or browser), an approximate area rounded to about one kilometre on your device before sending, the timezone, which optional features are enabled, whether you have set up reminders, and the selected theme. It is not tied to an account or an advertising ID, and we store no persistent identifier for your device: instead we store a cryptographic key that changes every day, so two days cannot be linked together. Its only purpose is to know how many people use the app and roughly where, in order to improve it. These records are deleted after at most 180 days and are never shared.

Prayer reminders (if you enable them): enabling web reminders stores, on our server, the location you chose and your browser's push endpoint, so the server can deliver the reminder at the right moment. This is kept for as long as reminders are enabled and is deleted when you turn them off or when the device stops accepting notifications. The Android app's alarms run entirely on your device and send nothing.

User-contributed masjids: if you add a masjid, its name and coordinates are stored permanently and, after review, become part of the masjid list available to everyone. Please add only what you know yourself — never data copied from Google Maps.

On-device data: reminder rules, chosen city, and the optional worship log are stored only in the app's local storage; uninstalling deletes them. Notification/exact-alarm/ full-screen permissions are used solely to ring prayer alarms on time while the app is closed.

Deletion: there are no accounts and we keep no profile about you. To delete what is stored server-side, turn prayer reminders off in the app and your subscription record is removed; uninstalling removes all local data. Usage statistics are anonymous and cannot be linked back to you, so they cannot be individually retrieved or deleted, and they expire automatically within 180 days. For anything else, contact us.
